NBA Rumors: Rival Executives Believe Bucks Could Trade For Chris Paul This Offseason

Now that they’ve got a commitment from Giannis for at least one more season, you can expect the Bucks to go all-in on their bid for the 2021 Championship.

For as great as the team has been the past two regular seasons, they have fallen short in the playoffs, losing in the Eastern Conference Finals last year and then in Round 2 this year. If there’s one thing to be learned in it all, it’s that the Bucks need another piece if they want to win it all.

According to rival league executives, Chris Paul seems to be the guy to look out for.

There are rival teams that believe Milwaukee will explore trading for Chris Paul — complicated as that would be financially — if Oklahoma City indeed makes CP3 available via trade. One more thing to track as the Bucks enter perhaps the most crucial offseason in team history …

— Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) September 9, 2020

Paul’s max contract at 35-years-old isn’t ideal, but it might just work.

As a veteran, leader, floor general, and exceptional two-way player, CP3 would bolster the potential of the Bucks on both ends. He’d give Giannis additional opportunities on the offensive end and could close games down the stretch when the team needs a bucket.

This past season, in OKC, Paul averaged 17.6 points, 6.7 assists, and 5 rebounds per game on 48.9% shooting.
