The Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets have two of the best on-paper rosters in the NBA. Having three players that were NBA All-Stars for multiple years sounds too strong to stop. But in reality, even they need to have great chemistry to succeed in the league. That’s just how it is.

Speaking of the Nets, the performance of Kevin Durant has been the biggest talking point this season. KD has been doing everything in his power, even during Kyrie Irving’s absence due to suspension. The Nets are expected to get that much-needed spark following Kai’s return to the team.

But what if that doesn’t happen? Should the Nets think about freeing Durant and trade him to another team? After all, the Slim Reaper requested for a trade in the offseason.

Sports Illustrated Expert Suggests A Blockbuster Trade Idea Around Kevin Durant

In a recent interview, the Brooklyn Nets superstar explained the reason behind asking for a trade in the offseason. KD’s new interview has once again fueled rumors of him getting traded in case the Nets do not improve soon.

On that note, Rohan Nadkarni suggested a blockbuster trade idea around how the Lakers can get KD to the team in a trade package involving Anthony Davis.

Lakers get: Kevin Durant

Nets get: Anthony Davis, Lonnie Walker IV

#ADforKD has been a fun trade to discuss at various points, particularly in the summer when Durant requested a trade from Brooklyn. One issue that could hold this up is that the Nets have actually been playing well amid their recent controversies, putting together their best stretch of the season since suspending Kyrie Irving. Despite the recent success, Brooklyn may be one more swoon away from considering this trade. If the Nets go in the tank again, trading Durant would help to begin to cleanse the drama hovering over this organization. Acquiring Davis would allow Brooklyn to still contend while figuring out what to do with Irving and Ben Simmons. Davis would be the featured player with the Nets and could maintain his star persona in a big market.

The Lakers would still need to do some dealing after acquiring Durant because of the roster’s poor construction. His shooting would be incredibly welcome, though. And if the oft-rumored Westbrook-to-Indiana trade followed soon after, doesn’t Buddy Hield–LeBron-KD–Myles Turner sound mildly exciting? It would definitely be an improvement over 3–10.

The Lakers are in an even worse situation than the Nets this season. Many have suggested that trading Anthony Davis may solve their issues. And what’s better than getting KD in exchange for AD? But will the Nets accept this trade? We cannot know for sure.
