The Los Angeles Lakers are on a five-game winning streak as of right now, with LeBron James leading the way for the team. Throughout those five games, LeBron James has averaged an astounding 35.9 PPG, 9.0 RPG, and 7.6 APG, and it is clear that he has been highly impactful for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Many people have been clamoring for the Los Angeles Lakers to make a trade as of late, especially with LeBron James being as dominant as he is. One of the trades that has frequently been reported as an option for them, is moving Russell Westbrook and draft compensation to the Indiana Pacers for Buddy Hield and Myles Turner. Thus far though, that hasn’t happened.

Recently, NBA insider Marc Stein explained why the Los Angeles Lakers have not already made a trade for the two Indiana Pacers’ veterans. He said that the Los Angeles Lakers have already determined that giving up both of their tradeable first-round picks for Myles Turner and Buddy Hield is “too steep of a price to pay” for those two players.

There has been little — yet — to indicate that the Lakers’ approach will change. They decided in the offseason that packaging both of their available first-round picks in 2027 and 2029 is too steep a price to pay to trade for the Indiana duo of Myles Turner and Buddy Hield.

It is easy to see why the Los Angeles Lakers are reluctant to trade their future first-round picks for players that are not stars. There is no guarantee that Myles Turner and Buddy Hield will make them a championship-level team, though others truly believe that they could be difference-makers for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Rick Fox Called Out The Lakers Office For Not Getting Myles Turner And Buddy Hield

Recently, former Los Angeles Lakers champion Rick Fox called out the team’s front office for not making a move from Buddy Hield. It is clear that he believes the two could end up helping the team.

With @KingJames playing at his usual GOAT level even at 38 imagine if Myles Turner and @buddyhield were @Lakers we appreciate you Thomas Bryant Lets Get @AntDavis23 backs and get this 2023

Myles Turner and Buddy Hield could definitely be a good fit for the Los Angeles Lakers. Hield is an elite sharpshooter, while Turner is capable of both protecting the rim and spacing the floor. They would be good complementary next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Hopefully, we see the Los Angeles Lakers make a trade, whether it is for Myles Turner and Buddy Hield or otherwise. They are a move away from making the playoffs outright, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
