Joel Embiid completes another NBA season without a Conference Finals appearance following a Game 6 loss to the New York Knicks, and time could be running out for him. As he approaches 31 years old, the big man has struggled with injuries and it won’t get better as he gets older. As a result, he needs to maximize every season and could request a trade from Philadelphia.

The reigning MVP and former two-time scoring champion is dominant enough to be the best player on a championship team, which is why there are three massive trade packages available in exchange for the big man’s services. The Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, and New York Knicks can each create a superteam by trading for Joel Embiid this summer.

Golden State Warriors Save Their Dynasty

Joel Embiid - Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors want to save their dynasty this season and need to surround Stephen Curry with another superstar to achieve that.

Trade Details

Golden State Warriors Receive: Joel Embiid

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Jonathan Kuminga, Andrew Wiggins, Brandin Podziemski, Chris Paul, 2025 First-Round Pick, 2026 First-Round Pick

This trade package represents a bold move aimed at revitalizing their championship aspirations and saving their dynasty. Despite the availability of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green without injuries, the Warriors fell short of the playoffs this season, signaling the need for a roster shakeup.

Andrew Wiggins, who has been the subject of trade rumors, along with promising young talent Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski, could form a compelling package to entice the Philadelphia 76ers into parting ways with Joel Embiid. Additionally, the inclusion of veteran point guard Chris Paul helps facilitate the salary matching required for such a blockbuster deal.

With Embiid anchoring the paint (34.7 PPG, 11.0 RPG, 5.6 APG this season), the Warriors would undergo a significant shift in playing style, leveraging his dominant presence down low to complement the perimeter shooting prowess of Curry and Thompson. Embiid’s ability to command double teams and score in the post would create ample spacing for the Splash Brothers to operate, opening up opportunities for their trademark three-point barrage.

Furthermore, the addition of Embiid affords the Warriors the luxury of forming a formidable Big Four, with Klay Thompson expected to re-sign in free agency. Under the guidance of head coach Steve Kerr, known for his innovative offensive schemes, the Warriors could seamlessly integrate Embiid into their system, maximizing the talents of their star-studded roster.

Acquiring Joel Embiid represents the desire to restore their dynasty to its former glory. With a revamped roster featuring a potent mix of elite talent, experience, and youth, the Warriors are poised to reclaim their status as perennial contenders and embark on a new era of dominance in the NBA. Even if Embiid is injury-prone, if he can stay healthy for at least 60 games per season, the Warriors have enough talent to carry him as they prepare for the playoffs.

Miami Heat Create A New Superteam

Joel Embiid - Miami Heat

The Miami Heat have made two NBA Finals with Jimmy Butler leading the way but he can get more help now with Joel Embiid.

Trade Details

Miami Heat Receive: Joel Embiid

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Bam Adebayo, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Nikola Jovic, 2029 First-Round Pick

The Miami Heat’s acquisition of Joel Embiid marks a significant step in their quest to solidify their status as a perennial contender in the Eastern Conference. While Jimmy Butler has led the team to two NBA Finals appearances in five years, the Heat recognize the need to bolster their roster to compete against powers like the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks who have both shown improvements this year.

By parting ways with Bam Adebayo, along with promising talents Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Nikola Jovic, Miami secures the services of Embiid, forming a formidable Big Three alongside Butler and Tyler Herro. Under the stewardship of head coach Erik Spoelstra, the Heat have cultivated a culture of discipline, versatility, and selflessness, attributes that align well with Embiid’s skill set and mindset.

Embiid’s dominance in the paint not only provides a reliable scoring option but also anchors Miami’s defense, complementing Butler’s tenacity on the perimeter. Moreover, Embiid’s ability to draw double teams and command attention inside creates opportunities for Herro to thrive as a floor-spacer and secondary playmaker.

In Spoelstra’s system, which emphasizes ball movement, player movement, and defensive intensity, Embiid’s versatility as a scorer and rim protector adds a new dimension to Miami’s playbook. With Butler’s leadership and Herro’s scoring prowess, the Heat boast a well-rounded trio capable of competing at the highest level. Furthermore, Embiid’s presence shores up Miami’s frontcourt, addressing a glaring need for interior scoring and rim protection. With a revamped roster featuring a potent Big Three, Miami is poised to make waves in the Eastern Conference and stake their claim as a legitimate contender for years to come under Spoelstra’s guidance.

A New Star In New York City

Joel Embiid - New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are having an excellent run in the playoffs but not winning the NBA championship means they need to take a gamble to swap Julius Randle for Joel Embiid.

Trade Details

New York Knicks Receive: Joel Embiid

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson, Donte DiVincenzo, 2025 First-Round Pick, 2026 First-Round Pick

Even with their impressive playoff run this season by defeating the Philadelphia 76ers without Julius Randle in the first round, the Knicks fanbase might need a game-changing acquisition. By parting ways with Julius Randle, Mitchell Robinson, Donte DiVincenzo, and future draft picks, the Knicks secure the services of Embiid, a two-time scoring champion and a go-to primary option.

Under the tutelage of head coach Tom Thibodeau, the Knicks have embraced a defensive-minded approach predicated on toughness because they finished second in the NBA in OPPG (108.2). Embiid’s presence not only shores up New York’s frontcourt but also adds a new dimension to their offense.

Pairing Embiid with superstar Jalen Brunson (28.7 PPG, 6.7 APG) provides the Knicks with a potent inside-outside combination, as Brunson’s playmaking ability and court vision complement Embiid’s scoring prowess in the paint. Additionally, the defensive versatility of OG Anunoby adds another layer of strength to the Knicks’ lineup, creating a formidable trio under Thibodeau’s system.

Embiid’s arrival in New York signifies the emergence of a new era for the Knicks, reminiscent of the iconic Patrick Ewing days. With a talented roster anchored by Embiid, the Knicks have the potential to become the most formidable team in the Eastern Conference, challenging the Boston Celtics for the most talent in the conference. As they continue to build upon their playoff success, the addition of Embiid solidifies the Knicks’ status as a force to be reckoned with, signaling a new era of dominance at Madison Square Garden.
