NBA Rumors: Sixers Want To Trade For Bradley Beal Without Giving Up Tyrese Maxey Or Matisse Thybulle

The Philadelphia 76ers are currently the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference, and that has been in large part due to Joel Embiid’s stellar player. Embiid is currently putting up 29.1 PPG, 10.8 RPG, and 4.4 APG on the season.

Despite their positioning, the Philadelphia 76ers clearly don’t have a lot of star power on the roster. They have a promising guard in Tyrese Maxey, and some solid role players like Tobias Harris and Seth Curry, but most would agree that Joel Embiid has no true co-star right now, as Ben Simmons has been sitting games for the team.

There is no doubt that the 76ers want to get Joel Embiid a co-star. The best way to do that would be to trade Ben Simmons to another team to get a star back. It seems as though one of the stars they want is Bradley Beal.

Jason Quick of The Athletic has reported that the 76ers would be willing to send out Ben Simmons for Bradley Beal, but don’t want to add another promising young player like Tyrese Maxey or Matisse Thybulle.

Philadelphia has made no secret that Beal is on its short list of players for whom it would trade disgruntled guard Ben Simmons, who has sat out all season. But the 76ers won’t include an additional piece, such as exciting young guard Tyrese Maxey, along with Simmons in a potential trade for Beal, per league sources. Philly has similarly held firm that it won’t put third-year forward Matisse Thybulle, a terrific wing defender, in a Simmons package.

It remains to be seen if the Philadelphia 76ers will manage to get Joel Embiid some help ahead of the trade deadline. Their options are quickly narrowing though, and it was recently reported that the Sacramento Kings ended up pulling out of trade talks with the 76ers due to the team’s high asking price for Ben Simmons.

Hopefully, we see the Philadelphia 76ers get Joel Embiid some talent prior to the deadline. He is having an all-time season, and it would be a shame to see that be wasted come playoff time.
