Point guard Tyrese Maxey is widely viewed as a future star not only by the Philadelphia 76ers but also by NBA fans in general. The young guard is already a decent scorer who is elite from the 3PT range, and the sky is the limit in terms of his potential.

Though the Philadelphia 76ers could end up making some trades in the future, it seems as though Tyrese Maxey won’t be part of any of them. In fact, NBA insider Marc Stein recently revealed that Maxey is untouchable in any trades for the franchise.

“My Yahoo! Sports colleague Jake Fischer reported Saturday that the 76ers are unwilling to include Tyrese Maxey in trade offers for Portland’s Damian Lillard. He took it a step further, too, and I have heard the same. Maxey is not available in any trade conversations, according to one team source, with the Sixers adamant that the speedy guard is a significant part of their future and thus not available in any scenarios.”

There is no doubt that this approach makes sense from the Philadelphia 76ers. It makes no sense to trade their best young player, who is the insurance for the future, on a veteran team.

This season, Tyrese Maxey averaged 20.3 PPG, 2.9 RPG, and 3.5 APG for the Philadelphia 76ers, while shooting 43.4% from the 3PT range. He could have a breakout season next year if James Harden gets traded, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

The 76ers Have A Huge Asking Price For James Harden

The Philadelphia 76ers clearly need to make moves this summer, especially with James Harden demanding a trade. However, it seems as though the team is willing to let the situation drag on, as it was previously reported that the team is “prepared to wait” until someone meets their high asking price.

“Philly’s asking price for Harden is ‘extremely high’ and the 76ers are prepared to wait for the most advantageous deal to accommodate Harden’s trade request, reported Adrian Wojnarowski.”

It remains to be seen where the Philadelphia 76ers will end up trading James Harden. He has been linked with the Los Angeles Clippers, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.
