The Washington Wizards have traded away Russell Westbrook to the Washington Wizards, getting some solid players in Montrezl Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Kyle Kuzma in return, along with some draft capital. However, that still leaves them with a gaping hole at point guard.

Some prior reports have linked Spencer Dinwiddie to the Washington Wizards, but the move is complicated. The Washington Wizards don’t have the cap to sign Dinwiddie outright, so a sign and trade is likely going to happen. However, it seems as though the trade will expand to even more teams. Washington Wizards reporter Quinton Mayo has recently reported that 6-8 franchises could be involved in sending Dinwiddie to the Wizards, and it looks as though that could be a blockbuster trade.

It seems as though Spencer Dinwiddie will end up finding his way to the Wizards somehow, even if the team has to jump through some hoops to get him. The Brooklyn Nets have also reportedly asked for promising rookie Deni Avdija and draft compensation from the Wizards to facilitate a Dinwiddie deal, though it remains to be seen what the final package will look like. The trade will certainly be crazy to witness if there were actually 6-8 teams involved.

Bradley Beal was the runner-up in the race for the scoring title last season, averaging 31.3 PPG during the season. While he had a superstar partner in Russell Westbrook last season, the rest of the roster was fairly thin, and it seems as though the Washington Wizards have committed to building a more balanced team around Beal, adding solid talent at every position, though none of their players are superstars.

Adding Spencer Dinwiddie would give Bradley Beal an amazing second option, and combined with their return from the Westbrook trade, the Washington Wizards could be a dangerous team. There is no doubt that adding Dinwiddie is a priority for the Washington Wizards, and hopefully, they can get a deal done.
