Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world. However, he challenges the norms of an NBA superstar, primarily due to his innate lack of explosive athleticism.

Given that he isn’t known for his leaping and dunking ability, Jokic stunned fans recently when he threw down an impressive reverse dunk during warm-ups before a Serbia vs. Germany game.

At 6’11”, it should be considered normal for a professional athlete to perform such a feat. But considering Jokic’s reputation as a floor-bound center, the sneaky display of athleticism was a shocking sight for fans.

As more fans took note of the dunk, several shared their reactions to the viral video on social media. We took a look at some of the best ones on X.

“Follow me for more Nikola ‘Jordan Kilganon’ Jokic dunks,” said one fan, hilariously comparing Jokic to the professional dunking sensation.

“His horse won the race this offseason, and now he’s moving like this? Coincidence? I think not. Bro got more inspired after that horse victory,” claimed another.

“This is literally the most athletic dunk I’ve seen from him,” added a third.

“His horse won. He climbed his mountain. Now, it’s all just fun from here on out,” suggested another.

“Nah, his horse probably won that morning,” claimed another.

One fan presented the occasion as the reason for his display and said, “He actually cares about international play.”

Another user added, “He’s lost like 75 pounds. He can do a 360 dunk now. Amazing.”

“Holding back,” claimed another user.

One fan joked, “He only plays like that when it’s not an NBA game.”

Another attested, “He is playing with his buddies for his country. The energy is different.”

Although Jokic put on a show for the fans during the warm-ups, he only played a minor role in helping Serbia secure a 91-81 victory in the friendly matchup against Germany.

The Nuggets center ended the game with seven points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. Instead, the offensive charge was led by Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic, who had 22 points on 4-7 shooting from beyond the arc.

The consensus appears to be that Jokic’s energy while representing his country is far different compared to when he plays in the NBA. This may even support claims of his lack of interest in the league.

Regardless, the sight of Jokic moving like this would be viewed positively by Nuggets fans. After Denver’s offseason roster-building project, they have cemented their status as a title threat. With the star big man running the show, the Nuggets are primed to be one of the best teams in the league.
