Stephen Curry is one of the greatest players of all time. And as is required by all NBA greats, he has had several notable moments in the Mecca of Basketball – Madison Square Garden, which is the home of the New York Knicks. In fact, Stephen Curry hasn’t lost a game in the building in over 12 years. His last loss at the Garden came on February 27, 2013, which was 4,389 days ago.

Tuesday night was Stephen Curry’s 13th game in the arena. He put up 28 points (10-21 FG), seven rebounds, nine assists, and two steals as he helped the Warriors defeat the Knicks 113-102.

Overall, Stephen Curry has played 26 games against the New York Knicks and boasts an impressive 20-6 record against the franchise. When it comes to playing the Knicks at the Garden, he boasts a 12-1 record against the Knicks, with the aforementioned February 2013 loss being his only defeat in the legendary building.

Ironically enough, Curry’s only loss in Madison Square Garden also featured his highest-scoring total against the New York Knicks. On that night, he dropped 54 points (18-28 FG), six rebounds, seven assists, and three steals, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Knicks, as they beat the Warriors 109-105.

Overall, Curry averages 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game while shooting 47.6% from the field, 48.9% from beyond the arc, and 86.7% from the free-throw line while playing against the Knicks in the World’s Most Famous Arena.

It’s almost as if Stephen Curry has taken that one loss at Madison Square Garden very personally, and chosen to make the arena the site of some of his biggest accomplishments during his NBA career. In 2021, Curry surpassed Ray Allen for the most three-pointers made in NBA history and did it in a game against the Knicks at MSG.

The Garden is a favorite of almost every NBA player. With the number of iconic moments that have taken place at MSG, it is unsurprising that so many players always want to leave a mark on the building and put on a historic performance when playing there. However, few have done what Stephen Curry has been able to do at The Mecca, especially given the massive record he broke in 2021.

This record for Curry has to sting for Knicks fans, especially considering that they were just one pick away in the 2009 NBA Draft from landing Stephen Curry. The Knicks had the eighth overall pick in 2009. And just one pick before the Golden State Warriors, who beat the Knicks to the punch and landed the star who became the greatest shooter in NBA history.

If the story were different, the Knicks would have loved it if Curry had a stellar record at MSG as a member of their team. But things didn’t work out that way. Nonetheless, the Garden has played host to the reigning All-Star Game MVP several times and has witnessed him put on some incredible performances.
