The Golden State Warriors desperately need to add another star to help save their season. According to Matt Moore of Hardwood Paroxysm, the Warriors are keen on one particular trade scenario, where they send Andrew Wiggins to the Toronto Raptors, who in turn will send Bruce Brown to the Miami Heat, and the Heat will send Jimmy Butler to the Warriors.

“One framework two sources described as Golden State’s ‘hope’ involved Andrew Wiggins going out in the deal, either directly to Toronto or rerouted to Toronto from Miami for Brown. If Wiggins does not sound like the ‘significant piece’ Stein reported on to you, well, he’s not. But what he is a contract they can package with other things.”

What could a possible deal under these circumstances look like? We’ve imagined something that all three parties might find agreeable:

Golden State Warriors receive: Jimmy Butler, 2030 Raptors First Round pick (1-10 Protected)

Toronto Raptors receive: Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney, Moses Moody, Kevin Love, Alec Burks, 2030 Second Round pick, 2031 Second Round pick (MIN Swap Rights)

Miami Heat receive: Bruce Brown, Jonathan Kuminga, Kelly Olynyk, Chris Boucher, 2028 Raptors First Round pick (Top 3 Protected)

This deal would get every side exactly what they want. The Warriors will receive Jimmy Butler, who their team desperately needs, and they will get some players off the books and off the roster, thus allowing Steve Kerr to settle on a more consistent and regular rotation.

As for the Toronto Raptors, giving up two first-round picks might seem like a steep price considering the players they are receiving, but the protections on those picks will allow them to feel comfortable.

Plus, they receive Andrew Wiggins, who isn’t just a great player to build around, but a Canadian star that they can use to promote the team to their local fans. Along with that, Moses Moody is a young prospect, and Kevin Love, Kevon Looney, and Alec Burks are veteran stars who have been part of championship teams that can help cultivate a positive culture for their young core.

And as for the Heat, they get exactly what they want, which is a first-round pick for the 2028 NBA draft, which will work with their timeline. And if it doesn’t, they can use it in another trade. And they land Jonathan Kuminga, whom they can build the future of their franchise around.

As for Kelly Olynyk, Bruce Brown, and Chris Boucher, all of these players are trusted veterans whose contracts expire by 2026, which is something the Heat have made clear in their demands to other teams for Jimmy Butler.

This deal could be exactly what all three teams need. However, the Warriors might not be all the way locked in on this deal, as another report has suggested that they might prefer trading for Zach LaVine instead.

This upcoming week is set to be massive, as we march towards the February 6th trade deadline. Stay tuned to Fadeaway World for all the latest trade news and updates.
