NBA big man Steven Adams has been mostly laying low this offseason, but he still does make time to troll the fans. On Friday, his latest victim was X user ‘Lob City Bandwagon’ who caught a stray after claiming to have seen Adams buying condoms at a local CVS pharmacy.

Lob City Bandwagon: “One time I saw Steven Adams at the CVS in Sunset in Echo Park with a hooker and he was buying condoms.”

Steven Adams: “I was with your mum that day. Had to be safe.”

The date of the incident is not entirely known but Adams is currently in a relationship with Kayla Kiriau, so hookers should no longer be part of his daily routine. As for why he chose to buy from a CVS in Echo Park, only Adams can say for sure but the area is out near Los Angeles and the city is a frequent stop for NBA athletes. In this case, Adams was just taking an opportunity to indulge himself with minimal effort and risk.

Of course, Adams had no clue that he was recognized by one of the shoppers and he’s been quick to joke about it since finding out. In this latest exchange, he went viral for his response and for standing his ground in what other stars might consider an awkward situation.

Of course, this kind of behavior is nothing new for the 31-year-old center. After playing just 42 games over the past two seasons, Adams has a long road back to his peak form and there are concerns about his long-term durability.

The 2024-25 campaign will be a chance for him to rediscover his place in the game and it will be his last chance to play himself into a long-term contract this summer.

With the Grizzlies, Adam played his role to perfection and he was a major piece of their early success. In his first season with the team, he averaged 6.9 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per game on 54.7% shooting.

Adams was a steady presence in their front court and a quality center next to young defense star, Jaren Jackson Jr.  Today, Adams is on the Rockets with a clean slate to make his presence felt.

With Adams, Dillon Brooks, Fred VanVleet, Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr., and Jalen Green, the Rockets have a solid cast of players and they have ambitions to make a deep playoff run in the West.

Only time will tell how close they are to challenging for the title but Adams could help them in a major way if he’s healthy and playing like his usual self this upcoming season. At the very least, his presence gives them an added bonus in the paint against the league’s bigger teams.

In the meantime, Adams will also be serving up impressive comebacks to anyone who tries to spread lies or expose his private activities to the whole world.
