Los Angeles Lakers fans don’t have much love for their former head coach, Darvin Ham, and one of them took a shot at him recently. A fan on X wildly claimed that Ham would have benched Luka Doncic for Patrick Beverley just because he struggled in his first few games as a Laker. The post went viral and came to the attention of Beverley, who agreed with the fan.

“Wild take. But so accurate.”

Well, that’s not really accurate. Sure, Ham made some questionable lineup decisions during his time as head coach, but he never benched the actual superstars.

Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell, and a past-his-prime Russell Westbrook had to be part of the bench unit at various points, but not LeBron James or Anthony Davis. So it’s safe to say that Ham would have stuck with Doncic in the lineup regardless of how poorly he may have been playing.

Beverley would know that too. So, why publicly go along with the fan’s claim? Well, Beverley called out Ham and the Lakers after he was traded in 2023, claiming they didn’t use him the right way. Perhaps there is still some bad blood there.

Patrick Beverley Trolls The Knicks After They Lost To Stephen Curry And The Warriors

Beverley was at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night for the game between the New York Knicks and the Golden State Warriors. He witnessed the Warriors win 114-102, with Stephen Curry scoring 28 points. Beverley was impressed by Curry’s performance and took to Instagram to state he had brought the belt out for the Knicks.

Beverley also caught up with the likes of Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green during the night.

The NBA is indeed a brotherhood, and Beverley would love to be back playing in the league. The 36-year-old parted ways with Hapoel Tel Aviv in February and is a free agent right now. It will be interesting to see if he does get signed by any team before the end of the season.
