Patrick Beverley is not a player who will put up huge numbers in a game for the team he is playing for. Instead, he is a great defender and uses his relentless antics to mess with the concentration of the opposing team.

For most of the 2022-23 NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers had Patrick Beverley on the roster. However, they traded him around the NBA trade deadline to bolster the roster’s depth. Beverley recently played his first game against the Los Angeles Lakers since becoming a member of the Bulls, and the 34-year-old didn’t hold back in calling out his former head coach and team.

“Yeah. If I’m a spoon, Billy is using me as a spoon. The Lakers, you know, I was a spoon, and they used me as a fork.”

Patrick Beverley has become a great addition to the Chicago Bulls and has helped the team win several games with his tenacity on the court. As per Pat Bev, the reason behind it is the fact that Bulls head coach Billy Donovan is perfectly utilizing his strengths on the court.

This is something that Lakers head coach Darvin Ham failed to do. In the Bulls’ recent win over the Lakers, Beverley recorded 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. It’s certainly a good start to Beverley’s redemption arc against his former team.

Patrick Beverley Has Called Out The Los Angeles Lakers Several Times

During the Lakers vs. Bulls game, Patrick Beverley made sure to clap back at his former team in every way possible. Beverley did the ever-so-disrespectful ‘too small’ celebration after scoring against LeBron James. Bulls fans loved to see that tenacity from their point guard.

If that wasn’t enough, Beverley also gestured that the Lakers stink in response to NBA analyst Shannon Sharpe. All these antics show that Beverly is clearly mad at his former team.

But what is the root of Beverley’s anger at the Lakers? Well, the Bulls guard earlier explained why he was frustrated with the team.

“Yeah, we should do this on defense… ‘Nah we cool, we cool… Nah we gotta rotate’… Bron what you mean we gotta rotate, you ain’t even playing… They don’t listen to me…. You gotta go through the first-year coach, the LeBron, the AD, the Russ, then it get to me. You don’t hear my sh*t the way you should hear my sh*t… Due to circumstances, whoever on the team, your voice isn’t heard, what you saying doesn’t echo. Because we had a nice f**king team in LA.”

Beverley was definitely frustrated with the Purple and Gold by the team when he was traded away. On a positive note, he has seemingly found his perfect team by joining the Bulls.

Since parting ways with the 34-year-old, the Lakers have also found a lot of success. At the end of the day, the two sides made the right decision. Either way, the Wednesday night matchup between the Lakers and the Bulls will be extremely entertaining to watch.
