LeBron James turned 38 years old in December 2022, and no matter how much he has taken care of his body over the years, it’s simply impossible to beat the cons of getting old.

James recently returned to the roster after missing 13 straight games due to a torn tendon in his foot. But an NBA insider told Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson that LeBron’s injury may have been fake. Instead, the superstar was only getting some much-needed rest in order to avoid an actual serious injury.

“I don’t think LeBron was really hurt. He needed rest. Guess what? Before they made the trade, LeBron played every game and heavy minutes. Kobe made the mistake, and he tore his Achilles. They learned from that.”

The NBA insider truly believes that the Lakers took precautions to avoid what happened to 34-year-old Kobe Bryant during the 2012-13 NBA season. Bryant played heavy minutes throughout the season to carry the Lakers to the playoffs, but in the process of doing so, he suffered arguably the worst injury of his NBA career.

Keeping that in mind, there may be some truth to this news. The NBA insider also talked about the potential positive impact of James getting rest over the last month or so.

“LeBron is gonna come back refreshed like the Tasmanian Devil!” “Do not be surprised if the Lakers win the whole s**t!”

With the NBA playoffs right around the corner, the Los Angeles Lakers certainly need LeBron James to be at his best. After all, we’re all aware of the threat that James can possess when he is at 100%.

The Lakers Lost Against The Bulls In LeBron James’ Return

The Lakers fanbase was extremely happy when it was announced that LeBron James is returning against the Bulls. However, they forgot that the King hadn’t played basketball in four weeks.

Evidently, James was a bit rusty and recorded 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists while coming off the bench vs. the Bulls.

The numbers are certainly not bad, but LeBron has set unbelievably high standards for himself over the years. Hopefully, the 108-118 was just an off-night for the Lakers.

They are currently the ninth seed in the Western Conference and have a 37-38 record in the West. Over the next seven games, James should be back at his best to help the Lakers in advancing to the postseason.
