It hasn’t been a great season for the Milwaukee Bucks but they did finally catch a break on Thursday with a much-needed win against one of the worst teams in the league. The Bucks, who were 1-6 before the game, finally snapped the streak against the Jazz to win their first home game of the season (123-100).

Despite concerns about the Bucks star duo, they both had amazing games tonight and did everything they could to secure the victory. Starting with Giannis, his 31 points (11-21 FG) and 16 rebound performance was the highlight of the night and gave the Bucks the edge they needed to pull away in the second half.

“Giannis has looked almost flawless with his approach the last three games, great balance of playing his game and letting Dame run the show,” wrote a fan on social media. “He’s screening, rebounding, defending, running out in transition, quick ISO possessions.”

Damian Lillard led all scorers with 34 points (12-22 FG), 7 assists, and 4 steals in 37:02 minutes. He looked like his old self tonight with amazing scoring and playmaking and had fans dreaming of what the Bucks might be able to accomplish if he played like this more consistently.

“He’s found his place and comfort in this team and actually started to take charge of things and been absolutely unstoppable,” wrote a fan. “Looks like the Damian Lillard we all know and love!”

Together, the Bucks’ duo accounted for over half of the team’s scoring and this was undoubtedly one of their better games together. On X, fans couldn’t help but acknowledge their talented roster, even if it hasn’t been enough to achieve the desired results.

“Damian Lillard is absolutely locked in this season. Giannis will be Giannis. If Khris can get back healthy and stay healthy and Doc can get some of these rotations dialed in, this team, as abysmal a start as they’ve had, can win a championship,” posted one fan in confidence. “No hyperbole.”

As the worst team in the NBA right now, the Jazz were supposed to lose this game and still managed to put up a fight in the first 24 minutes. Jordan Clarkson was their leading scorer with just 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists on 45.5% shooting. Collin Sexton contributed 14 points, 7 assists, and 2 rebounds in 27:14 minutes. It was a fine game but the Bucks’ stars proved too much for them to handle in the end.

“Yes – the Utah Jazz are tanking. But it’s good for the development for everyone else on the team to have Patty Mills play,” said one fan about the Jazz. “Patty Mills knows how to play professional basketball. He was making winning plays on both ends of the court tonight. It rubs off.

Now that the losing streak is snapped, the worst-case scenario is over for the Bucks but they have quite an uphill battle to climb. At 13th in the East, the Bucks are far from where they want to be right now and some fans couldn’t help but point their finger at the supporting cast.

“My main takeaway from tonight is that Giannis and Dame go crazy when working together and what decides the outcome is whether or not the bench players and role players pull their weight,” one fan wrote on X.

Doubts or not, the Bucks can’t afford to pull the plug on this experiment now. Fresh off changing their coach and trading their longtime championship point guard, the franchise has sacrificed far too much not to see this through.

At least tonight, the Bucks got another taste of victory and stopped the bleeding after weeks of struggles. Maybe they learned something along the way that will help make the game easier going forward for everyone on the roster.
