On the final night of November, the Milwaukee Bucks pulled back over .500 on the season thanks to an explosive performance from Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks, now 10-9, are quickly closing the gap with the rest of the East and are showing some serious signs of life here in the new season.

Tonight, while the competition was a weak Wizards team, the Bucks still managed to impress the critics with a hard-fought clutch victory (124-114). As usual, Giannis was the star of the show, but he was on another level tonight as he made history with his performance.

With 42 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists, Giannis is the first player since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to drop a 40-point triple-double and the Bucks needed every single bit of it. He carried the Bucks on both ends of the floor and fans couldn’t help but start bringing up his place in the early MVP conversation.

“Giannis is the MVP hands down. It’s absurd that he’s not even in consideration right now,” wrote one fan after the game.

Really, Giannis has been on a tear all season long. In 16 games, he’s averaging 32.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.4 assists on 60.8% shooting. He’s been the only thing keeping the Bucks alive this season, who would otherwise be completely helpless to save their season.

“Giannis has been on some other sh*t lately,” wrote Kendrick Perkins on X. “Dominating and abusing anybody in front of him. I don’t care if it’s against the Wizards… 42-11-12 is Insane!!!!”

The Greek Freak set the stage for his other teammates tonight, like Damian Lillard who finished with 25 points, 10 assists, and 5 rebounds on 44% shooting. For a team that was treading water a few days ago, the Bucks are seemingly trending in the right direction and they are rising the standings at an impressive rate.

“Giannis be unreal all season but only really get talked about when his team lose a couple of games,” noted one fan in defense of Giannis.

Only two players score over 16 for the Wizards: Malcolm Brogdon and Jordan Poole. With 31 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds on 10-23 shooting for Poole, he led the team in scoring over Brodgon who had 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists on 30:06 minutes.

Despite their best efforts, however, nothing could overcome the assault from Giannis, who continues to get overlooked as one of the game’s most elite athletes.

“Giannis’ peak is super underrated he’s been putting up 30 12 6 on elite efficiency for like half a decade people just got bored with his greatness,” one fan posted on X.

As a mediocre team on both ends of the floor this season, it hasn’t been the kind of run that the Bucks pictured when they first brought Giannis and Lillard together. At the time, it was believed that the balanced scoring ability of both superstars would have set them apart from even the best teams in the league.

Instead, it’s been an awkward fit from the very beginning and it has made things much more difficult for the Bucks front office. At 29 and 34, respectively, Giannis and Lillard don’t have a whole lot of time together and the Bucks are feeling the pressure to maximize their talents now while they are each healthy and playing All-Star-level basketball.

Fortunately, they are showing some signs of life this season after a rough start and if they can keep this momentum going, it won’t be long before they’re back up near the top end of the standings.
