Kyrie Irving had an awful showing last night in Game 2 against the Boston Celtics. While Kyrie balled out in Game 1 and dropped 39 points, his Brooklyn team fell to a loss. The script was the same, just that Kyrie didn’t have a 39-point performance. Instead, he slumped to 10 points on the night as Boston took another win.

NBC Sports Boston is known for putting hilarious graphics below players for topical issues. They pulled no punches while doing it to Kyrie in the post-game press conference.

Irving had a massive spat with Boston fans during Game 1, visibly flipping off fans sitting behind him. The NBA would fine Irving for the same, but NBCS Boston hands out justice in their own way. They put a graphic under Kyrie that said 10 points, 0 middle fingers, roasting the point guard for the incident from Game 1.

Game 2 was a tough night for Kyrie who couldn’t get his offense flowing. It was a shame that Kevin Durant was struggling as well, as Durant made no field goals in the entire second half of the game. Despite that, the Nets were competitive and lost by just single digits, opening up possibilities for the next game.

With the series headed to Brooklyn and Irving being cleared to play, the Nets will be hoping the momentum of their home crowd can fuel them to a victory. For that to be the case, he can not show up and have a 10-point outing and Durant can’t show up with the uncharacteristic inefficiency we saw in Game 2.

The Boston defense cannot lose sight of the strategy they have employed to contain the players so far. Their defense is suffocating. But hopefully, Irving shows up to want to make sure he can get the series back in Boston and show his old fans once again what they are missing without him.
