The 2024 NBA Draft is still over a year away, but there is already excitement about one aspect of it. Every NBA fan is wondering which team Bronny James and potentially LeBron James will join if Bronny can make the league.

Understandably, fans of the Los Angeles Lakers would like it to be there. But with the young James committing to USC, analyst Nick Wright has a theory that would see both him and his dad end up on the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“Evan Mobley plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers,” Wright said. “Evan Mobley’s father Eric is an assistant coach at USC. The Cavs traded away all of their future first-round picks, except for their ‘24 first-round pick, which would be the year that Bronny could come out of school if he was one and done. And so the connection there, the LeBron connection there, and the fact that the Cavs, the one thing they don’t have on their roster is a small forward…”

this is by any stretch of the imagination, a pretty long dot to connect. Evan Mobley has completed just two seasons with the Cavaliers, and it’s hard to imagine that he or his father could influence a decision of this magnitude. But LeBron James has a history with the franchise, and it’s his hometown team, so that makes him and Bronny teaming up on the Cavaliers quite possible.

LeBron James Has Doubled Down On His Stated Intention To Play Alongside His Son Bronny

If LeBron James and Bronny James can come together on an already exciting young Cavaliers team, it would be too poetic. And the possibility exists for sure, with James having some free agency options. For anyone wondering if his desire to play alongside his son has diminished though, LeBron once again cleared up any doubt about that.

“I was serious, and I’m still serious about it. If my mind goes, then my body will just be like, ‘OK, what are we doing?'”

A lot of things have to come together for this to happen, and we are yet to see how Bronny James’ year in college will pan out as well. There is no way to predict the future, and LeBron James will be focused on the Lakers right now, but the thought of him and Bronny on the Cavs would surely appeal to the King as well.
