After releasing a phenomenal commercial after Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets won the NBA Finals, Nike now took their praise for the superstar a level further by making him a billboard icon.

Titled ‘No Joke’ the poster featuring Jokic smiling and being hugged by his teammates lit up New York City.

Earlier, it was the commercial that wooed the fans. It was unique, it was quirky, and most importantly, it was the perfect way to announce Jokic as the world’s latest NBA champion.

“So a Serbian guy walks into an arena,” the monologue read. “Wins an MVP. Wins another one. Helps lead his team to the playoffs. Then the Finals. Wins a ring. Brings a city together. And everyone is happy. That’s it. That’s the punchline. No Joke.”

And it surely is no joke as the two-time MVP was instrumental in the team’s title run averaging 30.2 PPG, 14.0 RPG, 7.2 APG, 0.8 SPG, and 1.4 BPG. The end result was a Denver 4-1 win over the Miami Heat and Jokic being named Finals MVP. Safe to say, the celebrations won’t stop for a while.

Serbia Celebrate Their Champion

Serbia had every reason to celebrate this week. If it was Novak Djokovic who won the 2023 French Open to his tally, Jokic followed it up by winning his first-ever NBA title.

And to pay their ultimate tribute, the Belgrade Tower lit up by showing Nikola Jokic as their champion and also featured his MVP award.

The tower looked superb under lights and a move of that magnitude shows how important Jokic’s effort was for the people. Now, it remains to be seen if Jokic and the Nuggets can defend their title.

On his part, Jokic has stressed what he needs to do to be successful.“If you want to be successful, you need to be bad, then you need to be good,” he said. “Then when you’re good, you need to fail. Then when you fail, you’re going to figure it out… There are no shortcuts. It’s a journey.”

Wonder if there is one more commercial in the works with his success mantra.
