Nikola Jokic is one of the best players in the NBA today. Jokic is the reigning league MVP, and could even win the MVP trophy for the second year in a row. Jokic has been playing at an extremely high level this season, and there have been questions as to how long Jokic can sustain this level of play, as he has been playing very regularly throughout the year.

But Nikola Jokic says he has plenty of energy, and a big reason for that is his family. Jokic noted that being around his wife and daughter gives him energy and motivation, and keeps him centered. Jokic doesn’t allow the stress of the NBA to get to him when he is with his family, and he gets a lot of joy and positive energy when he is around his wife and daughter.

"… I'm just enjoying Natalija … I always say, she's the MVP of our family. She's doing so much for us and for the baby. I'm really happy that I have her, and that makes me so happy just to see her face when baby sees Natalija. It's amazing. I love it." https://t.co/4WzMZ3zyYF

“Right now, I have a little daughter, and my family is there, so they give me a lot of energy. There’s just happiness when I go home. Maybe that’s something new in my life that gives me a little bit of spark… I’m just enjoying Natalija … I always say, she’s the MVP of our family. She’s doing so much for us and for the baby. I’m really happy that I have her, and that makes me so happy just to see her face when baby sees Natalija. It’s amazing. I love it.”

Jokic clearly prioritizes his family over his career, as he should. While Jokic is one of the best players in his league, his ambition will be to win the NBA championship. But that ambition will not take precedence over his family. The way he spoke about his wife and daughter shows how much he cares about them and what his family means to him.

Jokic and the Nuggets haven’t been as successful in the Western Conference as other teams, but they have a solid roster, and if Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. are able to make their return during the playoffs, then the Nuggets will be a formidable force and could reach the NBA Finals this year.
