2 Min Read

The pieces of the final moments are starting to come together for those who lost their lives in January’s tragic helicopter crash. Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, were among the nine victims in the chopper.

The National Transportation Safety Board has been investigating the incident and while a final report isn’t expected for many more months, bits and pieces of the details are starting to emerge.

A new picture has surfaced featuring the helicopter flying into heavy fog leading up to the crash. It shows a Sikorsky S-76B with the registration N72EX, barely visible in low cloud, close to the 101 highway.

The crash is a heartbreaking reality for many families who lost someone important to them that day. For the NBA community, Bryant is an icon and legend. While many are looking for someone to blame for the crash, it really was just a freak accident that mother nature itself initiated. Heavy fog and the California mountains can be a dangerous mix.

In spite of the tragic turn of events that led to his death, he died as the person he wanted to be: a Father.
