The Denver Nuggets are strongly establishing themselves as the best team in the Western Conference, with Nikola Jokic leading them from the front and building up to winning a third consecutive MVP. After 2 years of injury struggles, the healthy Nuggets are living up to their potential and rising above the pack in the Western Conference.
Nuggets’ head coach Michael Malone deserves a lot of credit for creating the schemes that have allowed the Nuggets to succeed. Are The Nuggets NBA Finals Bound?
Out of all teams in the West, the Nuggets seem like the safest bet. Preseason favorites like the Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, and LA Clippers have struggled for a myriad of reasons and have been fighting to stay above .500 for the last month. The Pelicans and Grizzlies are still considered young squads that may need another year of playoff experience to compete against a team like Denver.
The Dallas Mavericks could be dark horse favorites, but it’s clear that the Nuggets have the most going for them. They are well-coached and have built years of continuity with Malone, Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter Jr., and Jamal Murray. They’ve been close to the Finals before, but it seems this is the year they can finally clinch it, provided they stay healthy.
