With Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Kyle Lowry, the Miami Heat are poised to make some noise in the East.
But amid all of the offseason acquisitions for Miami, it has led to some questions about where young stud Tyler Herro fits into it all. After suffering a disappointing campaign last season, the jury is still out on whether or not Herro can become a reliable and go-to scorer in this league.
But, according to Heat President Pat Riley, the guy is a part of their future, regardless of any doubts fans might have.
“He’s a core player. That’s all there is to it… Tyler Herro is a core player for us. Maybe he had a sophomore jinx or whatever.”

It is worth noting that Herro was involved in a number of different trade rumors this summer, which is not surprising given how active Miami was in trying to improve their roster.
Fortunately, Herro was not moved and will more than likely be starting this next season in a Heat jersey.
Still, it does leave open the possibility that Herro does eventually get moved. Though, the young guard himself isn’t really worried about it anyway…
“I mean I’m done listening to all that, honestly. I think every time we’re not playing or even if we are playing, my name is brought up in something,” said Herro. “It is what it is at this point. I’m focused on getting better and getting this team better. Obviously, we’ve seen Milwaukee win a championship last night and it looked like a lot of fun. That’s what we’re building up to do is win a championship and I don’t plan on going anywhere.”
The NBA is a business, after all, and anything is possible. If Herro continues his downward spiral and doesn’t show signs of improvement, he could be back on the trade block before the deadline.
For now, though, the guy is clearly held in very high regard, and they’re hoping that all their patience and faith will be rewarded in the end.
Only time will tell.
