Russell Westbrook is one of the most explosive players in NBA history, taking advantage of his athleticism, the future Hall of Famer has left his mark on the game, and he keeps doing his thing on the court.

Former enemy turned friend Patrick Beverley recently talked about Russ’ secret to keep playing at the best level, crediting his diet as the reason why Westbrook remains playing at a high level.

“I ain’t going to lie, this motherf**ker Russ is crazy. Last time we hopped on a plane, he ate a motherf**king salad. All lettuce. No dressing, no chicken, no protein, no nothing. Just lettuce.”

When asked if Russ was a vegan or something along those lines, Beverley replied that he didn’t know, but he saw the former NBA MVP eat as much lettuce as he could without anything else.

“I can tell you why he’s been so athletic, action-figure looking like. That motherf**ker eats lettuce. No dressing, no toppings, no protein, no nothing. Lettuce.”

These two used to beef, but after becoming teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers, things changed for them. As soon as they met, the relationship got a lot better, and Bev called Russ his brother.

However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t competitive when clashing against each other on the court. So much so that Westbrook recently did his ‘rock the baby’ celebration after scoring on Beverley during a recent Los Angeles Clippers vs. Chicago Bulls game.

Things have changed a lot for these two, as they aren’t part of the Los Angeles Lakers anymore. Russ signed with the Los Angeles Clippers after being traded to the Utah Jazz and waived by his new team. As for Beverley, he joined the Chicago Bulls to try to help them reach the playoffs.

Westbrook has been doing his thing, helping his team even when Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have been out of action. Leonard himself has praised Russ’ contribution to the team, and Westbrook is glad that he’s in Los Angeles, helping this team ahead of the difficult playoffs.
