Two former Lakers guards from earlier this season squared off as the Los Angeles Clippers are hosting the Chicago Bulls. The starting point guard match-up puts Russell Westbrook against Patrick Beverley.

These two have a rich past as rivals before they became teammates in LA this year. Now that they’ve both been traded away, Westbrook rocked the baby on Beverley as he used to in the old days after scoring on him.

Westbrook and Beverley became friends during their shared time in LA, with PatBev even saying that they’ve squashed their rivalry and are friends now. He also reached out to Russ after both of them were sent packing from the Lakers before the trade deadline. Now they’re both looking to make playoff runs with their current teams.

Beverley’s Bulls are coming off a win over the Lakers, and Beverley enjoyed that win to the fullest, mocking LeBron James and dissing his former team in interviews.

Russell Westbrook Making An Impact On The Clippers?

The Clippers were mocked by many for signing Russell Westbrook after his disastrous stint with the Lakers. While the Russ experiment has brought inconsistent results, it’s clear that he’s a much better fit on the Clippers than he was on the Lakers. He has averaged 14.1 points, 7.1 assists, and 5.0 rebounds since signing with the Clippers after Paul George extensively recruited him.

Westbrook’s inability to play in late fourth quarters due to his inconsistent scoring ability has been plaguing this team in many of the losses they’ve had since signing him. Similarly, Russ has also led the Clippers through many games by providing playmaking that the team has lacked for years. Whether this works in the playoffs is something that will be determined when they begin, so it’ll be interesting to watch this play out.
