Luka Doncic responded to all his recent critics with a solid performance against the Indiana Pacers to end the Mavericks’ losing streak at 4.

During the win, Doncic pulled off a worldly cross-court pass from a double-team to Jaden Hardy for a three. It was arguably one of the best passes of the season and even had LeBron James tweeting about it as his son was performing in the dunk contest at the McDonald’s All-American game.

Doncic was being double-teamed by TJ McConnell and Andrew Nembhard in the corner and managed to pivot to find enough space to throw a pass. Doncic was a step away from being out of bounds, so he threw a magical curved pass from behind the basket to find Jaden Hardy waiting in the corner to drain an open three.

The Mavericks won this game behind Luka Doncic dropping 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in just 3 quarters. Doncic was on a technical foul suspension for this game before the league revoked his 16th technical to make him eligible for this contest. Kyrie Irving had an efficient 16-point game in a relatively easy win for Dallas on the road.

Can Luka Magic Help Dallas Go On A Playoff Run?

The vibes in Dallas seemed to have been trashed with a shocking 2 losses in a back-to-back against the Charlotte Hornets. Those losses dropped the Mavs out of the play-in and 3 games below .500. This win has started to mitigate the damage and keep the Mavs’ hopes for a play-in appearance alive. Doncic also came out and expressed that he was frustrated with the season for personal and basketball reasons.

The Mavs owe a top-10 protected first-round pick to New York as the final piece in the Kristaps Porzingis trade. Many believe that tanking to ensure they keep their pick might be their best course of action to improve this roster. But you can’t simply tank with Doncic and Kyrie Irving on the roster, whose offensive combination could get the Mavs further than anyone expected.

Defense is still a massive issue and will remain so this season, dimming any real hopes that Dallas has. Fixing all of this in the summer and coming back stronger next season may be their best option.
