Patrick Beverley Says Teammates Don’t Want To Protect Chris Paul: “When I Pushed Him Why Didn’t His Teammates Do Anything? Somebody Push Me On The Team, Minnesota Timberwolves Is Going Up. Somebody Push Me On The LA Clippers, It’s Going Up.”

Patrick Beverley’s tirade against Chris Paul over the last few days might well go down in some record books. Beverley went at Paul all day on ESPN, right from Get Up to Stephen A’s World and he did not hold back one bit. He had earlier compared Paul to a cone that players dribble around in the summer while later claiming that he and players in the league aren’t too stressed the night before they have to face CP3.

When Stephen A Smith brought up on Stephen A’s World (3:48 mark) the point that Beverley had pushed Paul towards the end of Game 6 in the Western Conference Finals against the Suns last season, Beverley had an interesting response.

“My question to you is when I pushed him why didn’t his teammates do anything, show toughness. Devin Booker was right there, Jae Crowder was right there, ain’t nobody pushing me, man. Somebody push me on the team, Minnesota Timberwolves is going up. Somebody push me on the LA Clippers, it’s going up.”

“They are an Ok team, greatly coached, they have a system in play that can get you 58 to 65 wins a season no matter what, no matter who plays.” “But that don’t mean that people afraid of you.”

Beverley claimed the Suns aren’t tough and it showed when they didn’t come to Paul’s defense when he got shoved from behind. He further went on to say that Phoenix is an okay team that is greatly coached but that no one particularly fears them on the court.

The Suns will have to deal with slander like this from the NBA world after their humiliating exit in the Conference Semifinals against the Dallas Mavericks. They seemed like the best team in the NBA for most of the regular season but with the way things ended, Beverley seems right on point here that no one particularly feared them come playoffs.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
