Paul George: "We Have To Protect Home Court. This Has To Be A Feared Place. When People Step Into This Arena, They Should Be Feared."
Paul George has made it clear that the Clippers need to defend their home with everything. After struggling to win at the Staples Center in the first round of the 2021 NBA playoffs, the Clips won the two they played in the Western Conference semifinals.
After tying the series against the Utah Jazz, PG13 sent a message to his teammates and rivals, claiming that the Staples Center needs to be a fort. Following the Clips' 118-104 win over the Jazz, with Kawhi Leonard making one of the best dunks of the year, George opened up on the home-court advantage and how important it is for the team.
"We have to protect home court. This has to be a feared place. When people step into this arena, they should be feared."
George and Leonard combined for 62 points, leading the way for the Californians, who looked unstoppable in front of Donovan Mitchell and co. Talking about Leonard, PG credited his teammate's mentality during these playoffs.
Game 5 of the series is scheduled for Wednesday, with the dynamic duo hoping to steal home-court advantage against the top-seeded team in the Western Conference.
They are trying to reach the WCF for the first time in franchise history. If they keep this pace, their chances to do so are really high.
