Payton Pritchard may not have gotten many opportunities with the Boston Celtics this year, but he is definitely a player that could get good minutes on another team. Pritchard is known for being a fantastic 3PT shooter and is known for being able to make big-time shots as well.

There is no doubt that having limited playing time can be frustrating for a player. Recently, Payton Pritchard admitted that he was “expecting and hoping” that he would get traded, but added that he’s looking at “the good things”, noting that the Celtics are “the best team” in the league right now. Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe relayed the news.

“I definitely was expecting and hoping [for a trade],” Pritchard told the Globe. “But you know, I [have to] look at the good things. We’re the best team in the NBA right now and we have a great team with really great players, so for me it’s an opportunity to learn and to keep growing.”

Hopefully, we do see Payton Pritchard find a team that will give him a bigger opportunity when he hits free agency. He definitely has some upside that warrants bigger minutes, and it’ll be interesting to see what he can do with a bigger opportunity.

The Boston Celtics Have A Good Team Now

There is no doubt that the Boston Celtics have a solid team as of right now, and they have a legitimate chance to win the championship this year. In fact, a few weeks ago, Stephen A. Smith called them the “best team in basketball”.

“Boston’s the best team in basketball Molly. They can hurt you in a multitude of ways. Right now, I don’t think anybody would argue with the fact that Jayson Tatum is a leading league MVP candidate, he is a superstar. They have the best depth in the NBA, one could argue about Denver as well, but I’m gonna pick the Celtics for the moment.

The Boston Celtics notably made the NBA Finals in 2022, and it is clear that they are laser-focused on getting back to the highest stage. Though they have had some bad games this year, overall they have looked like an elite team.

Hopefully, we see the Boston Celtics make the Finals this year, and perhaps they could even win a championship this year. They are definitely extremely talented, and we’ll see what happens in the playoffs this year.
