The Phoenix Suns are currently one of the most talked about teams in the NBA right now. The reason behind it is the Suns’ recent blockbuster trade for Kevin Durant. Adding Durant to the team has skyrocketed the organization’s chances of winning the NBA Championship this season.

Speaking of Kevin Durant‘s arrival in Phoenix, the 34-year-old received a standing ovation from Suns fans. The reception from Suns fans was no surprise. After all, Durant is currently one of the best players in the world.

On that note, the new owner of the Phoenix Suns, Mat Ishbia, recently shared his thoughts on landing KD in the blockbuster trade. Ishbia even labeled Durant as the best player in the world.

Via Boardroom:

“If there’s an opportunity to get the best player in the world on your team? Man, how do you not do that?”

Ishbia labeled Durant as the best player in the world. This season, Durant is averaging 29.7 PPG, 6.7 RPG, and 5.3 APG while shooting 55.9% from the field and 37.6% from deep. Looking at these numbers, it’s no surprise that Ishbia traded for Durant even though the Suns had to give up a lot of assets in exchange.

Kevin Durant Is Positive About Phoenix Suns’ Chances Of Winning The NBA Championship

The Phoenix Suns may have one of the best rosters on paper, but it also comes with a lot of pressure. Kevin Durant himself admitted that playing for the Suns will put a lot of pressure on him.

Despite the increased pressure, the 2x NBA champion is optimistic about the team’s chances of winning it all. The reason behind it is the fact that Durant admitted to the fact that the Suns have all the essential pieces to win an NBA Championship.

Whether those pieces will fit together perfectly or not will be discovered by fans in the coming weeks.
