Reggie Miller explained why Stephen Curry has had a bigger global impact than former Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan.
The former Indiana Pacers superstar has seen enough of Jordan and Curry as a player and a commentator, respectively, to define why the Golden State Warriors superstar had a massive influence on the sport. Speaking on the Dan Patrick Show, Miller shared his two cents.
“I’ll say Stephen Curry for this reason,” Miller said. “He’s playing in the age of social media. There wasn’t that when Michael Jordan played. You had to actually watch the games…Stephen Curry is in the digital age.”
He further added: “I would say Stephen Curry has had the bigger global impact. I think Michael Jordan’s really now more famous for the shoes. The brand. People forget how great he is and was.”

Miller makes complete sense, especially when looked at from a modern-day NBA standpoint. Jordan’s greatness may not have been entirely given due respect, but his sneakers have become a wardrobe staple, with the brand dishing out new variants from time to time. Quite simply, what started off as a classic shoe is now a fad that Jordan is remembered for.
On the other hand, Curry’s three-pointers, his brand image, and his on and off-court persona have become a massive trend on social media — be it him draining 3s from half-court or rocking his iconic “night night” celebration, the sharpshooter has a massive social media presence.
Stephen Curry And The Golden State Warriors Face Stern Lakers Challenge In The Second Round Of The Western Conference Playoffs
On the season front, Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors now face a stern test against the Los Angeles Lakers after beating the Sacramento Kings 4-3 in the first round.
And while they may not have played like the elite champions, they were last season, Curry and Golden State cannot be discounted at any point in time, especially in the postseason.
Curry echoed the same thoughts when he addressed the media ahead of the final Game 7 against the Kings. He took a shot at those who had written off the team, saying, “Not as long as I’m still breathing.”
The guard has been instrumental for the side in the playoffs averaging 33.7 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 4.9 APG, and has remained unguardable so far in the postseason. Will he still be the same force against LA? Only time will tell.
