Rudy Gobert is making a serious accusation against the NBA, claiming the league is favoring three teams to win this season.

The Frenchman didn’t hold back and called out the league for allegedly ‘helping’ the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, and Sacramento Kings.

“It’s bullshit. It’s bullshit. It’s not fair. It’s really not fair. Every night. I’ve been in this league for 10 years and I try to always give the benefit of the doubt, but it’s hard for me to think they’re not trying to help [the Suns] win [last night]. It’s hard for me to think they didn’t try to help the Warriors win the other night or Sacramento Kings the other night. It’s just so obvious. As a basketball player that’s been in this league for so long, it’s disrespectful.”

Following the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 107-100 defeat against the Phoenix Suns, who had Kevin Durant back on the roster, Gobert let people know what he thinks about the officials’ job this season (via Star Tribune).

“We understand that we’re not the biggest of the markets and we’re a team that — I think you want to see KD [Kevin Durant] in the playoffs, Steph [Stephen Curry] in the playoffs, you want to see LeBron [James] in the playoffs. [The] Timberwolves are not there yet. We got to keep putting our head down, keep playing through that and it’s frustrating for sure, especially for me.”

This is a big statement from Rudy, who is probably going to get fined for his remarks, but still, the player is frustrated with some calls. The Timberwolves remain in competition for a playoff spot, as they rank 7th right now, trailing the Golden State Warriors for the 6th spot in the Western Conference.

The T-Wolves didn’t have the best start to this season, and a top-6 finish would be huge for them. However, Gobert doesn’t think it’s fair for them to go against the other team and the referees too.

Western Conference Dubbed As ‘Weak’ By Some Superstars

Meanwhile, the competition in the West is getting more interesting, but not everybody is convinced that there are many threats on the way to the 2023 NBA Finals. Recently, Brian Windhorst claimed that LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant all think the West is weak, and they have a chance to make a deep playoffs run.

The Timberwolves aren’t considered among the teams that can make it out of the West this season, but anything can happen in the NBA, especially this year. However, they will try to win some games and make life uncomfortable for the top teams if they finally make it to the postseason.
