The Memphis Grizzlies have become known as the NBA’s biggest trash talkers, and it’s no secret that Dillon Brooks is the one leading that charge. As a confident and highly competitive player, he has no shame talking down the NBA’s best player, and that includes LeBron James himself.

But after Brooks tried to come at LeBron with accusations of being old, Lakers forward Rui Hachimura camera to his defense and flamed Brooks for his nonstop chatter.

“[Grizzlies] are a young team. They just want to talk. We don’t really care. We’re just going to play our game and try to win.”

The Grizzlies are the youngest team int his year’s playoffs, so it’s not too surprising that they’ve been battling a reputation for being immature all year long.

But despite all the hate, the Grizzlies still managed to finish second in the West and the Lakers still have work to do if they want to make it a series and shut down Brooks once and for all.

Will Lakers Beat Grizzlies In Round One?

After an impressive performance in the series opener, the Lakers fell flat in Game 2 and allowed the Grizzlies to build an early lead. They couldn’t make a run in the end and wasted an opportunity to put the Grizzlies in a must-win scenario.

“At the end of the day, we all understand what a series is all about. It’s not the first to one win or two, it’s the first to four,” said James. “Every game is its own entity and you have to prepare for that challenge. We were prepared tonight we just didn’t execute as well as we did in Game 1. They made adjustments, and we made adjustments, but you tip your hat to them. They played a hell of a game tonight.”

If Game 2 showed us anything, it’s that this series will not be a cakewalk for the Lakers, whether Ja is healthy or not. The Grizzlies still have enough depth and talent from guys like Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. to give the Purple and Gold some serious problems and that’s exactly what they did in the last time out.

Obviously, Rui and his teammates are looking to turn the tide for tomorrow’s game and re-take control of the series while they still have a chance.
