The Sacramento Kings are one of the biggest surprises of the 2022-23 NBA season. This team wasn’t expected to be good this season, but Mike Brown has figured it out, and right now, the Kings are playing at a great level, aspiring to do big things this campaign.
After the Tyrese Haliburton trade, many thought they would get even worse than last season, but De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis are simply incredible together, leading this team to have this magical campaign.
Not only they’re ranking 3rd in the Western Conference with a 25-18 record, but they are the best team in the entire state of California right now. After several years of struggles, they can finally say they can compete against anybody in the West.
Sacramento Kings Are Playing At A Great Level This Season
During the vast majority of their history, the Kings were always seen as the weakest team in California, behind the almighty Los Angeles Lakers, the powerful Golden State Warriors, and even the Los Angeles Clippers.
Now, things have changed for everybody, and the Kings are ruling California. This record places him above 12 other teams in the West, including the three aforementioned Californian neighbors.
The Los Angeles Clippers rank 8th with a 23-24 record, which would allow them to play in the play-in tournament. They’re followed by the Golden State Warriors, who sit at 9th with a 22-23 record. The Los Angeles Lakers are the worst team of the trio, ranking 13th with a 20-25 record, unable to even hit the .500 mark this season.
Just when people mocked the Kings for their beam, things started to get a lot better for them. The beam has become a big attraction for fans, it’s constantly lit, and the Kings hope to keep things that way.
It seems like their playoffs drought is about to end, and they could send a message to the rest of the West if they keep going. It was about time for the Kings.
