The Milwaukee Bucks have managed to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo on the roster for 10 years now, even winning a championship and becoming one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

However, every year we hear rumors about the Greek superstar being followed by a lot of teams around the league. This offseason isn’t the exception, as Ian Begley of SNY reports that a host of organizations are ‘monitoring’ Antetokounmpo’s situation with the Bucks.

“But it’s worth noting here that several teams are keeping an eye on the situation in Milwaukee concerning the future of Giannis Antetokounmpo, as we’ve previously noted. Antetkounmpo is eligible for an extension with Milwaukee this summer. Financially, it makes sense for Antetokounmpo to wait on signing an extension or new contract.”

Begley talks about the New York Knicks’ desire to make a big move next offseason if they fail to land a high-profile name this year. He doesn’t say the Knicks are part of the group keeping tabs on Antetokounmpo’s situation, but plenty of them are.

One NBA scout says that Antetokounmpo and Jayson Tatum will have an entertaining 2024 offseason, comparing them to LeBron James and Dwyane Wade in 2010 when they teamed up in Miami to create a Big Three.

It’s unclear if this means Antetokounmpo will join the Celtics or Tatum will go to Milwaukee, but it’s interesting to know that people are already anticipating big moves for these two stars.

Before the Phoenix Suns completed a move for Bradley Beal, Antetokounmpo was reportedly interested in playing with the shooting guard, but nothing happened for the Bucks.

Giannis Is Unlikely To Re-Sign An Extension This Year

The Bucks are entering a new era after parting ways with Mike Budenholzer during the 2023 NBA Playoffs. Adrian Griffin is taking over at Fiserv Forum, and Giannis is reportedly excited to see him doing his thing.

Perhaps this can convince the player to extend his stay with the Bucks, but next season will be crucial to make that decision. Antetokounmpo is unlikely to sign that extension this year, which makes more teams dream about the possibility of landing him.
