Shai Gilgeous-Alexander wants to make it clear that he doesn’t care about your bets. On Sunday night, he hilariously called out the fans who complained to him about them on Instagram.
“Shai over
Shai under
Shai you owe me bread bc you didn’t cover
ya ya ya
just know who to go to when you need a bucket before the buzzer
2″
Gilgeous-Alexander, of course, drilled the game-winner for the Oklahoma City Thunder against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night. Hitting those shots and winning games for the team is all he cares about, not fans yapping on about bets and parlays.
That 118-117 win against the Nuggets was just another indicator that he and the Thunder have well and truly arrived. During a timeout not too long before that shot, Chet Holmgren had stated this was their moment, but he amended that statement in the comments section later.

Shai certainly is the star of the show and I get the feeling he is going to have so many more special moments like that in his career. The 25-year-old ended that game against the Nuggets with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals, as the Thunder improved to 16-8.
NBA Fans Reacted To Gilgeous-Alexander’s Post
Gilgeous-Alexander’s caption game has always been on point and this was just another one that went viral. NBA fans praised the Thunder guard as they reacted to it.
One says Shai will never stop putting out these great captions, “Bro never gonna stop cooking up captions.”
A fan says he can no longer be made if Shai misses the over, “Nah this n**** cold can’t even be mad he missed the over no more.”
One thinks this is one of his best captions, “This lowkey one of the best captions.”
A fan hilariously stated that Gilgeous-Alexander’s caption game is as good as his game on the court, “Caption game as unstoppable as his hoop game, it’s crazy.”
One fan says everyone needs to bet the over on Shai for their next game now, “All men bet the over tomorrow. It’s confirmed.”
The Thunder take on the struggling Memphis Grizzlies next on Monday night, so you should probably go with the over if you are betting on Shai, who is averaging 30.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 2.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game this season. Just don’t bother complaining to him if he doesn’t hit the over, though.
Kevin Durant Called Out Fans Over Parlays
Let’s now switch over from a current Thunder player to a former one. Just like Shai, Kevin Durant has also just about had enough of fans getting on him about their bets. Last month, Durant called out the haters over these parlays.
“When I get ya paid, you don’t DM me and send a small percentage to my cashapp but when them parlays don’t hit, I’m every name in the book. Yall ain’t real.”
He does make a fair point there. With the growing legalization of sports betting across the U.S., the players are probably getting more and more angry DMs from fans over bets with each passing day. While the players can call them out over it, the fans obviously won’t stop and it’s just another headache for them to deal with at this point.
