Shannon Sharpe is a very famous person across the world of sports, especially in the NFL, where he had a terrific career, becoming a Hall of Famer, and more recently in the NBA, as he became one of LeBron James’ biggest defenders in the world.

However, Sharpe’s really took the spotlight on Friday night after an unfortunate situation with some members of the Memphis Grizzlies took place at Crypto.com Arena. The former player-turned-analyst went at it with Dillon Brooks, then engaged in a back-and-forth with Ja Morant’s father, Tee Morant, before several players went to face off Sharpe.

Sharpe and Tee made amends before the game ended, but the situation with Brooks continued, and the player took a big shot at the NFL legend. Ja Morant had a cold reaction to all of that, refusing to make comments on it.

Shannon Sharpe Reflects On His Incident With Dillon Brooks And Memphis Grizzlies

The weekend ended, things are cool now, and Sharpe returned to his job at Fox Sports. During Monday’s edition of UNDISPUTED, the former tight end reflected on his actions during Friday’s night game, apologizing to everybody who might have been offended by his behavior.

“I want to apologize for my behavior. I’ve preached for the last six and a half years responsibility and accountability and I take full responsibility for what transpired,” he started.

“It does not matter what Dillon Brooks said or how many times he said it. Me, being a responsible person, me, having a platform that I have, and having so many people look up to me, I was wrong.

“I should have lowered the temperature in the arena, instead, I turned the temperature up. And I let it go out of hand,” he continued.

He also mentioned the Lakers and those working to keep the franchise going, saying that he should have known better before acting the way he did. Plus, he also sent a message to the Memphis Grizzlies.

“I want to apologize to a few people. First of all, I want to apologize to the Lakers organization: Jeanie Buss, the Buss family. I apologize for any harm or unwanted attention that I brought to your organization.

“I want to apologize to the fans that were in attendance and fans that watched on television because that’s not what you pay for, and that’s not what you tune in to watch.

“I want to apologize to the Memphis Grizzlies organization and fans. I am sorry. More specifically, I want to apologize to Dillon Brooks. He is a fierce competitor and seeing him up close, I get a sense of why he is who he is and how he is wired the way he is wired. Bro, I apologize. I wish you the best of luck for the rest of the season and continued success.”

Of course, he also talked about LeBron James, thanking the King for defending him no matter what and also apologizing to him for putting the 4x NBA champion in a bad position.

“I also want to apologize to LeBron James, because y’all know how I feel about him and he’s supported me through thick and thin,” Sharpe said of James. “I’m sorry that I put you in this situation.”

This situation was really entertaining for some and a very bad thing for others. Some think Sharpe reacted the right way by not allowing any disrespect, but others were simply trying to watch the game, not an altercation that took the attention away from the match.

Still, this is done, and nobody can change what happened. It’s great to see that Sharpe was mature enough to issue an apology, and now everybody can move on and talk about other things.
