The new NBA season is almost upon us and there are many interesting storylines for fans to follow during the regular season. A lot of eyes will be on the Brooklyn Nets to see if they can bring it together after a tumultuous season. That’s not the only talking point, the Lakers need to bounce back after a poor season and have some plans, while the Clippers will finally be healthy after what feels like ages.

The Los Angeles Clippers have a very key factor to think about in this situation, having added John Wall to their roster. The Clippers have been lacking a true point guard in the Kawhi Leonard and Paul George era, and Wall is exactly that. Granted, injuries have ensured that he’s not quite who he used to be in his Wizards days, but Wall is itching to get back onto the court and hoop again.

Shaquille O’Neal Believes John Wall Will Excel For The Clippers Because His Back Is Against The Wall

NBA fans and analysts don’t expect too much out of John Wall. Even though he was once one of the best players in the league, it’s been too long since he played consistent basketball and people have perhaps forgotten how good he is. But Shaquille O’Neal thinks Wall can prove himself in a Clippers uniform and remind everyone of just how good he is once again.

“I think he’s anxious to let people know that he can still play. One thing about John Wall is he’s a dog. Back a dog in a corner, he gonna bite, he gonna show up.

“The fact that all the other organizations like, ‘yeah you’re John Wall, but you’re too old. We’re gonna go with the young guys, just stay home.’ Kind of probably attributed to him being down on himself that he needed help and I hope that he got the help that he was seeking.

“He’s from the old school. This new school is pass, pick and pop. If he has the ball in his hands and Ty Lue gives him the freedom to be John Wall, he’s gonna shine.”

Wall himself recently opened up about his struggles, it’s been a rough few years for him. His ability was always unquestioned but age and injuries can rob even the best of their skills. He is in an excellent situation to make it work though, and there’s not an NBA fan who isn’t rooting for Wall to find success.
