Skip Bayless Couldn’t Believe Shannon Sharpe Said ‘In GOAT We Trust’: “Did You Just Compare LeBron To God?”

Skip Bayless was shocked when Shannon Sharpe's praise for LeBron James reached a new level.

Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe have become successful analysts thanks to the same person: LeBron James. While Bayless is arguably the most famous hater of LeBron, Sharpe is one of his biggest defenders. Whenever these two go at it to discuss anything related to the King, fans always get interesting stuff.

Sometimes they make outrageous takes, sometimes they make hilarious comments, but it’s always a given that fans will be entertained by this tandem. In recent hours, not even Bayless could believe what Sharpe had to say when he was praising none other than LeBron James.

The two Fox Sports analysts are constantly comparing LeBron and Michael Jordan, trying to find a reason why one is better than the other. This is normal, as it happens around the NBA community almost every day. However, Sharpe might have taken things too far, according to Bayless’ reaction.

Shannon Sharpe Compares LeBron James To God Himself

During a recent edition of FS1’s Undisputed, the former NFL player-turned-analyst discussed how well LeBron would fare for the Lakers this upcoming season and what can we expect from him. When Bayless said that only Patrick Beverley had an A+ impact last season, Sharpe used a phrase commonly used to praise god, but instead, he mentioned LeBron (5:40).

“I trust GOAT James. I trust GOAT James. In GOAT I trust!” Shannon said.

Bayless couldn’t believe that and retorted.

“Did you just compare LeBron to God?” Bayless said. “Next thing I know, the new dollar bill next year will have LeBron’s face on it, right?”

This was a very interesting way to show how much Shannon believes that LeBron can take the Lakers to the postseason and, once they’re there, have a deep playoff run. The Los Angeles Lakers are entering a season with more doubts than certainties, and their fans hope to see the King, AD, and even Westbrook having a big season that can put them on the map again.

Things will get interesting in the West if the Lakers are actually competitive, and if they are able to clinch a top-4 spot, perhaps people will believe that LeBron can make miracles happen.
