Speaking of which, in a 2021 interview with ‘Earn Your Leisure’, O’Neal shared an interesting story about not wanting to purchase a Tesla car for one of his sons. The Diesel instead wanted his son to get a Dodge Charger.

“For Christmas, one of my sons got all A’s, I was like, ‘Man, go pick what you want.’ So he come back with a Tesla,” O’Neal said. “I said, ‘You better take yo a** across the street to the Chargers. Better get you a Charger. You ain’t getting no m*****f*****g Telsa. You better get you a Charger, a V-6 at that.’”

Shaquille O’Neal loves cars, there’s no denying it. In fact, Shaq once bought three Rolls-Royce for $1.3 million only because a salesperson pissed him off. But at the same time, the Diesel isn’t a huge fan of Tesla cars.

O’Neal was happy to spend more than $30,000 for purchasing a Dodge Charger V-6 model, instead of buying a Tesla. Everyone has a preference for cars, and the four-time NBA champion doesn’t like Teslas.

But that doesn’t mean he is afraid of spending extra money on cars for his family. O’Neal purchased black-on-black Mercedes Benz cars for his parents with his first million dollars.

Shaquille O’Neal Has A Net Worth Of Around $400 Million

Shaquille O’Neal played 19 years in the NBA and earned more than $286 million from salaries during his illustrious career.

But O’Neal’s net worth truly ballooned, thanks to his smart investments as a businessman. In fact, Shaq is a part of over 100 companies, he has more than 30 endorsement deals, and has invested in over 200 companies to reach his $400 million net worth.

While many players from O’Neal’s generation spent their money with no regard, the Los Angeles Lakers legend learned early in his career to make smart investments. Now, as a 51-year-old, O’Neal is living a comfortable life as a multimillionaire.

Shaquille O’Neal Has An Amazing Car Collection

Being worth more than $400 million allows Shaquille O’Neal to purchase the cars of his dreams. The Diesel has certainly lived the dream for years.

Our writer, Eddie Bitar, wrote a detailed article on Shaquille O’Neal’s legendary car collection. Over the years, Superman has bought 22 incredible vehicles. From a $35,000 Ford Bronco II to a $475,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom, Shaq has a phenomenal line of vehicles.

Moreover, O’Neal has customized a few of his cars. After all, your average vehicle is not accustomed to fit a 7’1″ 325 pound NBA center. Either way, fans are always on the lookout to see what new car he may add to his unbelievable collection.

Regardless of which car he purchases next, one thing is certain: Fans will never see a Tesla in his collection unless the Lakers legend suddenly has a change of heart.
