Shaquille O’Neal Says The Brooklyn Nets Must Trade Kyrie Irving: “How Can You Have A Championship Team When One Of Your Main Guys Don’t Want To Sacrifice?”

2 Min Read

Shaquille O’Neal has been one of Kyrie Irving’s biggest critics. The Big Diesel hasn’t hidden his disappointment with the Brooklyn Nets point guard, taking shots at him after the player revealed he wouldn’t take the COVID-19 vaccine

Three months after that, Shaq hasn’t changed his mind about Kyrie. Even though the Nets announced they would allow the player to be on the road with the squad, that doesn’t mean he will take the shot. Kyrie will become a part-time player after the Nets stated they wouldn’t let that happen.

Well, Shaq is still upset with the 2016 NBA champion’s decision, saying the Nets must ship him away if he’s not willing to sacrifice for the team’s sake. During a recent edition of The Big Podcast with Shaq, O’Neal said the Nets must part ways with Irving if he doesn’t sacrifice.

“It’s all about sacrifice. How can you have a championship team when one of your main guys don’t want to sacrifice?”

Kevin Durant was on a tear before he entered the league’s health and safety protocols last week. He carried the team to the top of the Eastern Conference, becoming the front runner to the 2022 MVP award.

James Harden has struggled to find his position on the team with Kyrie inactive. Now things could get a little better for the Nets with Irving back, at least on road games. Many people believe this is what the Nets need to become legit contenders, but not everybody thinks they should allow Kyrie to have this role.

Shaq isn’t happy with what he’s seeing from Kyrie. Understandable, he wants the Nets to part ways with him and get the most in return for their star. They still would have Kevin Durant and James Harden. That doesn’t seem to be on the Nets agenda right now, but O’Neal dropped the idea regardless.
