Stephen Curry is one of the most beloved players in the NBA. Many fans enjoy watching him shoot deep 3PT shots, as well as dancing around and toying with defenders on the perimeter. Many fell in love with the game due to the point guard’s influence.

The Golden State Warriors are currently in a heated battle with the Memphis Grizzlies in their second-round series, and there’s no doubt that the series has been very physical. There have been a couple of very notable plays due to the amount of physicality involved. Most notably, Dillon Brooks has been suspended for Game 3, after he committed a hard foul on Gary Payton II, which led to the guard being sidelined with an elbow injury.

Skip Bayless has recently provided an interesting take and claimed that the NBA suspended Dillon Brooks to try and help Stephen Curry get to the Western Conference Finals. He stated that the league “crumbled under social media pressure” and suspended Dillon Brooks “wrongly”, adding that the league “obviously wants” Stephen Curry to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

The NBA makes me sick. It crumbled under social media pressure to "do the right thing" and wrongly suspend Dillon Brooks. It also obviously wants – NEEDS – beloved Steph to advance, not some upstart team from Memphis. Congrats, Association, Twitter owns and operates you.

While Skip Bayless likely has reasons to believe what he does, it is clear that Dillon Brooks’ foul warranted a suspension. The foul had extremely excessive contact, and even if he didn’t mean to injure Gary Payton II, it was still a rough foul that could be classified as dirty.

It remains to be seen if the Golden State Warriors are able to get out of the second round. They are still favored in this matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, but it is clear that the Grizzlies aren’t going to go down easy.
