Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich Endorses Joe Biden, Flames President Trump

2 Min Read

Coaching legend Gregg Popovich has always been highly critical of President Trump, going so far as to call him impotent and cowardly, among other things.

So when he officially announced his endorsement for Joe Biden earlier today, it came as no surprise to anyone. He also took the opportunity to throw some more shade at the President.

“Our country is at a crossroads, and each of us must decide where we stand. I stand for truth over lies. I stand for equality and categorically reject white supremacy,” Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said about why he’s voting for Joe Biden and not Donald Trump, via Tom Petrini of Kens TV.

“I believe in compassion and decency. I believe our veterans are true American heroes, not suckers, not losers. I believe all Americans deserve access to affordable healthcare. I believe a presidency should be transparent, not veiled in deception. Now it’s time for you to decide where you stand. For me it’s pretty simple: a vote for Donald Trump is a vote against the very ideals upon which our democracy was founded,” Popovich continued.

“Our democracy is at stake, so please stand with me, united in the land of the free and the home of the brave. I stand with Joe Biden.”

With the election now just days away, America is indeed at a crossroads.

With perhaps the greatest divide politics has seen since the Civil War, tensions are flying and emotions are high from citizens all over the nation.

Popovich has, unsurprisingly, picked his side, but not everyone in the NBA feels the same way. Just earlier this week, one NBA owner put out this anonymous statement explaining why he is rolling with Trump.

It won’t be long now before we witness the results for ourselves.
