Ja Morant is one of the most athletic players in the game today, and he is an elite finisher at the rim for his size. Currently, Ja Morant is averaging 27.6 PPG, 6.7 RPG, and 7.9 APG. He has also led the Memphis Grizzlies to the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

Many people are huge fans of Ja Morant due to his electrifying style of play. Recently, Stephen A. Smith compared the young star to Allen Iverson, claiming that he isn’t just great but “spectacular.” Smith has always been a fan of Morant, once claiming that the point guard is more valuable than Giannis Antetokounmpo in the playoffs.

There is no doubt that Ja Morant and Allen Iverson do have some similarities to one another. In fact, Allen Iverson previously spoke about the young point guard being compared to him.

Allen Iverson Previously Spoke On Ja Morant Being Compared To Him

Previously, Allen Iverson stated that Ja Morant doesn’t necessarily have his “style of play” but added that Morant does have similarities to him in “the speed, the attitude, the bounce.” This is a fair analysis

“I might not see it in the actual style of play, but the speed, the attitude, the bounce. Ja is 6’3″ and can fly. Ja is the real deal.”

Allen Iverson is most well-known for his 2001 Finals run with the Philadelphia 76ers. Though he did not win the championship that year, he gained respect from a lot of and for managing to win one game against Kobe Bryant – Shaquille O’Neal Los Angeles Lakers. If he sees greatness in Ja Morant, then that is a good sign for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Ja Morant is definitely “the real deal,” and it’ll be interesting to see if he ever manages to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to the Finals. The team definitely has a lot of talent, and players such as Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks, and Jaren Jackson Jr. have been key to their rise as well.

The Memphis Grizzlies have been known for their confidence, trash talk, and swagger during the Ja Morant era. They clearly follow their leader, and hopefully, Ja Morant can bring them all the way to the NBA championship.
