Dwight Howard has been causing quite a stir on social media for a while now due to his comments on Nikola Jokic. Howard first claimed that he had a greater prime than Jokic in May earlier this year and he has tripled down on that statement since.

He recently explained why his prime was greater than Jokic’s, but Stephen A. Smith is one of many to disagree with him on this subject.

“Stay off the weed Dwight Howard,” Smith said. “I’m not accusing him of using weed. although it is legal in many states in this day and age. I’m simply using that metaphorically to make my point. Dwight Howard stop. Stop bro.”

Smith listed Howard’s accomplishments, which included three DPOY awards, two blocks titles, and five rebounding titles, but added that he is nowhere near Jokic as an offensive player.

“To say that you couldn’t shine Jokic’s shoes as an offensive player would be an insult to Jokic, it’s worse than that,” Smith continued. “You weren’t in his class, you had no post-game okay? You had a jump hook, you were very limited, you had no other moves okay. You couldn’t shoot the basketball… It’s not Jokic’s fault you didn’t score on threes, you couldn’t shoot them.”

Smith went on to praise Jokic’s scoring and playmaking abilities and he firmly believes Howard needs to stop making comments like this. He was a great player in his own right, but the Serb has well and truly surpassed him for good after leading the Denver Nuggets to the championship this year.

Dwight Howard Also Claimed He Is A Top 10 Center Of All Time

Howard also claimed during his interview with Complex Sports that he is a top 10 center of all time. He pointed to the fact that he has more than 16,000 points to go with nearly 15,000 rebounds in this era, which he feels is quite impressive.

Dwight is actually just over 500 points short of getting to 20,000, as he currently has 19,485 points. His numbers and accolades are certainly impressive and he might well have a case for being top 10 all-time, but there have just been so many great big men, that it’s hard to accurately rank them. He is certainly in that conversation though.
