Recently, we saw point guard Stephen Curry have a dominant performance against the Sacramento Kings, dropping 50 points in Game 7. There’s no doubt that this was a historic accomplishment for a legendary player.
After the game, NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith reacted to Curry’s performance, suggesting that the point guard should be in the conversation for being the greatest at his position. Generally, Magic Johnson is considered the greatest PG of all time, but if Stephen Curry wins this year, he’ll be right there.
“We need to have a conversation if he’s the greatest point guard to ever live.”

There’s no doubt that Stephen Curry is a fantastic player, and many consider him a top 10 player of all time. There’s definitely a fair argument for him to be the greatest point guard in history based on the fact that he changed the game and is the greatest shooter ever. However, ultimately what will determine his ranking is championships, and Magic Johnson has more as of right now.
In the series against the Sacramento Kings, Stephen Curry put up 33.7 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 4.9 APG. It is clear that he is playing at a high level, and perhaps we’ll see the Golden State Warriors win it all once again and repeat as champions.
Some Believe Stephen Curry Is The Second Greatest Player Of All Time Behind Michael Jordan
There are definitely a lot of people that hold Stephen Curry in high regard, and it seems as though analyst Bobby Marks is one of them. Previously, he claimed that Stephen Curry is the second-best player of all time behind Michael Jordan.
“I’m going to stun you with this take here. I actually think Steph Curry is the second-best player of all time. Right behind Michael Jordan. Curry has this instinct what I saw with Jordan. Anytime he has the ball you think it’s going to go in. He is a threat offensively. I think we’ve got 3 or 4 more years of Curry in his prime right now… I would put Curry ahead of LeBron James right now, as far as that No. 2 guy behind Michael Jordan… He’ll be a solid No. 2 when we get to 3 or 4 years from now.”
It will definitely be interesting to see if Stephen Curry can win more accolades and end up being considered as great as Michael Jordan. Some already believe they’re in the same tier, and we’ll see just how many more championships the sharpshooter can win going forward.
