Stephen A. Smith Unleashes An Epic Rant About Steph Curry, Klay Thompson And The Warriors

The Golden State Warriors aren’t having the best season of all this year after their two maximum figures, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson went down with injuries. While Klay is unlikely to return to action this campaign, there is still hope that he could play some games before the end of the season.

Moreover, Curry is aiming for a March return, but plenty of people around the league don’t think that’s the best choice for him. The Warriors have a 12-43 record and they don’t look with big chances to turn things around, which makes an earlier return something unnecessary for Klay and Curry.

For instance, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith spoke his mind out on Wednesday’s edition of ‘First Take’, ranting about the Warriors and the rush for putting Curry and Thompson on the floor.

“I don’t wanna see them. I don’t care what Steph Curry says. Let me say this; I speak from a position of passion and heart when it comes to these dudes. I love what these brothers mean to the game. Dell Curry, the father of Steph Curry, Seth Curry, brother of Steph Curry. Kidnap this brother. What have you given us the last five years? Five straight trips to the NBA Finals, three titles, you lost one after 73-9 season, in Game 7. Last year KD goes down, then Klay went down. They weren’t a basketball team, they were a damn infirmary, you still went six games with Toronto. They have given us so much. I want them back. I don’t want anything compromised. This season you’re 12-43; what you’ve done for the Bay Area, how you returned basketball, you owe them nothing, you owe us nothing, take a rest, chill, get yourself 100%, workout, go to games and cheer the team on, plan your vacations, don’t you dare step on an NBA basketball court this season. I don’t wanna see ‘em, because I don’t want anything to happen when you get another injury and you compromise next season because they will be back.

“Klay Thompson and Steph Curry is the greatest shooting backcourt in the history of basketball. Make no mistake about it. They get back on the court next year, they’re title contenders, they will be right in the mix. Don’t let anything interfere with that. Steph Curry needs to stay the hell off the court because we need you. This game misses you, and we need you. This season is not there, you gave us five beautiful years. Just relax with this season, it’s a vacation.”

Curry and Thompson have something to prove in the league, so there is no rush for them to return to a team with zero chances to make the playoffs. Still, the Warriors will come back to be the huge force they were in the league once their biggest figures return to action.
