• Stephen Curry intends to play in the 2024 Olympics alongside LeBron James and Kevin Durant

• Rumors of LeBron, Curry, and Durant forming a superteam Team USA squad have been running rife

• Curry has never played in the Olympics before and will be chasing his first medal

The Team USA All-Stars seem to be taking shape as we enter the final season before the 2024 Paris Olympics. It’s the perfect opportunity for LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry to team up for their country in the final years of their career. Curry seems to have already given his confirmation on joining the squad next summer.

“I have talked to some people about the opportunity. If all things stay the same, I want to play. It’s the one thing I’ve never done. I also understand the opportunity for Team USA to reassert itself as dominant in the world, so I definitely want to be a part of that, that’s why I want to be on the team. Hopefully, things line up that way.”

Fans on the internet are convinced Curry nearly said ‘I spoke with ‘Bron’ to start his statement, but he covered that up pretty well. Durant and LeBron have both made their intention to play in the Olympics clear over media day, with Curry also joining them in that process.

Damian Lillard, Kawhi Leonard, and Devin Booker are also expected to be available for selection. This could really be the best Olympic team the country has seen since the 2008 Redeem Team.

LeBron James Started Recruiting NBA Superstars To The Olympic Team

This summer saw a lot of debate over American vs. International basketball. First, we saw an All-NBA First Team that featured only one American player and four international players. Then, World Champion sprinter Noah Lyles criticized the NBA for calling their champions the world champions because they did not compete against the world.

Soon after that, Team USA failed to win the FIBA World Cup and confirmed what Lyles was saying. This reportedly led to LeBron James personally recruiting stars like Durant and Curry to join Team USA for the 2024 Olympics to re-establish their position as the powerhouse of international basketball.

“LeBron James, a three-time Olympian, two-time gold medalist, and the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, has so strong an interest in one more Olympics that he is ready to commit for next summer, and has also called multiple stars to essentially recruit them to join him with USAB in Paris, multiple league sources told The Athletic. James has spoken to Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Jayson Tatum, and Draymond Green, and they are all prepared to commit as well.”

Curry hasn’t played in the Olympics in his career and this will be his first attempt. Kevin Durant could play in his fourth Olympics, as the all-time Team USA leading scorer hopes to add a fourth Gold medal to his collection.
