Stephen Curry will be backing the blue for the 2024 US Presidential Election, following in coach Steve Kerr’s path and endorsing Kamala Harris to be the next President of the United States of America. Curry appeared via video at the Democratic National Convention, expressing his support for Harris and painting an optimistic picture of the future of the USA.
“What’s up, everybody? Stephen Curry here. I know y’all know I play for the Golden State Warriors but man, what a great honor it was to represent Team USA at the Olympics and win a Gold. That unity on and off the court reminded us that together we can do all things and continue to inspire the world. That’s why I believe that Kamala (Harris) as president can bring that unity back and continue to move our country forward. This is about preserving hope and belief in our country. Making sure families can be taken care of in their most precious times.”
“I got to visit Kamala with my team at the White House last year. I knew then and I know now, the Oval Office suits her well. So in the words of Michelle Obama, do something! Go vote. Be active. Let’s show out in November like never before. It’s an honor to support Kamala, let’s all do our part.”

Curry has never made his political leanings as public as people like Kerr or LeBron James, but this shows him taking a side as firmly as ever. He’s already the third NBA player to be seen at the DNC for this election cycle, following coach Kerr and NBA Champion Khris Middleton.
Coach Kerr gave a speech on the DNC stage earlier this week, referencing Curry’s ‘night night’ celebration while trolling the Republican candidate for President, Donald Trump.
“After the results are tallied that night, we can, in the words of the great Steph Curry, we can tell Donald Trump… night, night!”
NBA players and coaches clearly want to avoid another Trump Presidency, a time when the league had basically no contact with the government due to the President’s various attacks on the sport and its players.
Donald Trump Tried Ending The Tradition Of Inviting NBA Champions To The White House
Donald Trump also paused the tradition of NBA Champions going to the White House by refusing to invite the Warriors in both 2017 and 2018 due to personal differences with Curry, as he laid out in a tweet himself.
“Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team. Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!”
This led to a fiery response from LeBron James, who’s one of the most politically brash voices in the NBA.
“You bum, Stephen Curry already said he ain’t going! So therefore ain’t no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!”
While Curry’s political ideology has never been made public, we do know that he isn’t a big fan of Donald Trump. Curry has previously criticized the former President for inaction on racial issues.
The Warriors ended up going to the White House after winning a title again, doing so in 2022 under the Joe Biden presidency, with current presidential candidate Kamala Harris serving as the Vice President.
