Stephen Curry is one of the best point guards that has ever played the game, and there’s no doubt that when he retires, he will be viewed as one of the most influential players of all time. After a 2-year hiatus, the Golden State Warriors are back in the Finals, and there’s no doubt that their fans are happy to see Stephen Curry on the biggest stage once again.

Despite the fact that Stephen Curry has never won a Finals MVP, there’s no doubt that he’s shown up big in the Finals in the past, and he arguably should have won the Finals MVP award in 2015.

A recent statistic shows just how underrated Stephen Curry’s Finals production is. There are only 5 players that have managed to put up 25 PPG, 5 RPG, and 5 APG over the course of an entire Finals series. Stephen Curry is among them, alongside Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Jerry West.

Even though Steph Curry does not have a Finals MVP, it does not mean he has not excelled in the championship round.

When Stephen Curry retires, he will definitely go down as an all-time legend. Some, like NBA analyst Emmanuel Acho, even believe that Stephen Curry will be a consensus top-10 player of all time if he wins this year’s championship:

“They won at least 4 NBA titles and 2 NBA MVPs. Why do I bring this up? Because our guy Steph Curry sits there with 2 MVPs and 3 titles. If Steph Curry gets that fourth, he becomes a part of the undisputable 7. It’s currently 6, because they gave you 4 titles and two MVPs. The second Stephen Curry gives you his fourth along with his two MVPs, it’s now an indisputable seven.”

The Golden State Warriors should be considered the favorite in their series against the Boston Celtics. They have a fair amount of talent on their roster and are a stout defensive team. However, there is no doubt that they will need Stephen Curry to play well offensively if they are to eventually win the 2022 championship.

Perhaps this is the year Stephen Curry gets the Finals MVP that’s missing from his resume. There’s no doubt that Stephen Curry has been instrumental to the Golden State Warriors dynasty, and even if he doesn’t win this year, he will be a crucial part of NBA history.
